International Press Corps

The International Press Corps is a highly-acclaimed and reputable international news publishing organization that provides expository, peer-reviewed, and engaging accounts of controversial current events taking place all over the world.

Reporters will be faced with a multitude of news from a wide array of committees, respectively ranging from beginner to crisis level topics. Delegates will be assigned certain tasks throughout the conference, but will be given substantial freedom in regards to how they choose execute their assignments, whether it be through an interview, a written article, or a live newsclip. With this freedom, IPC provides reporters with a realistic experience into the realm of fast-paced and investigative journalism. Featured pieces will be published onto a PacificMUN news forum that will be accessible to all delegates during the weekend iteration.

The International Press Corps is a unique committee that challenges the typical Model UN experience. Both beginner and advanced delegates are welcome, although those with a particular interest or passion in journalism and creative writing may find this simulation to be especially rewarding.

Linda Dai

Linda Dai is currently a Grade 12 student at Crofton House School. This will be her fourth and final year of Model UN, and she is ecstatic to be serving as the director of the International Press Corps at PacificMUN 2019. Outside of MUN, Linda can be found finding punny memes to send to her friends, trying out, and consequently spending all her money at, new restaurants in the city, and rewatching episodes of Friends. She greatly looks forward to reading an array of engaging articles and hopes to provide a positive and educational experience for all of the IPC Journalists!

Angela Hu

Angela Hu is currently a senior at Steveston-London Secondary. She is ecstatic to be your IPC Chair at the upcoming iteration of PacificMUN. At her first conference in Grade 10 (where she spoke twice), her interest in Model UN has grown exponentially due to her varied experiences. From (accidentally) sleeping in after Midnight Crisis at a conference, to roasting committees in IPC articles, she is eternally grateful for all these experiences that she holds dear to her heart. In her spare time, Angela can be found attempting to read Crazy Rich Asians, critiquing the endless television shows she watches, attempting to perfect her chocolate chip cookie recipe, laughing at bad jokes, or explaining why bubble tea is not called boba. Angela cannot wait the undoubtedly fruitful debate IPC delegates will report on and looks forward to meeting everyone in February!
